Default RS gallery Thumbs not showing in front end

We are using Secure Shell host / server and have mambo sitting in sub folder. Everything was going smoothly until i uploaded the final component (rsgallery) uploaded my images and the thumbs come up as a broken link....

could this be a path problem and if so where in the code to fix this

any help for this problem would be greatly appreciated

this the url:

Also having this trouble on www.bedscitt.org.uk.

I have one gallery working but htat's only as I fudged the results by FTp'ing the thumbs into the thumbnail folder.

What I can see is that the file it's trying to find in for the thumbnail is not the thumbnail picture I specified when uploading images in admin (settings for manual upload as none of other options worked, at all).

ONE
---
Looking at source code for HTML page it is trying to show the thumbnail from here;
http://www.bedscitt.org.uk/images/ga...cht1_23372.jpg

but the thumbnail has been uploaded to here;
http://www.bedscitt.org.uk/images/ga...cht1_23372.jpg

Where the hell do we change / fix this??

TWO
---
It's looking for the actual big picture, not the thumbnail that was loaded up with it?? Why and how to fix?? In fact the thumbnail picture wasn't uploaded at all ... !!

Default Thanks for your reply muppet

It was my understanding that the rsgallery automatically generates the thumbs and puts them in the thumbs folder

check out:

http://www.yotm.net/ (sorry you have to become a member to see the gallery)

(my bands website please excuse the basic layout it was an unpaid job)

everything works fine first time everytime didn't even have to open my ftp... (for the gallery anyway)

my guess is that when mambo is uploaded to a sub folder the path is broken but am stumped as to where the path resides in the code...

i'm working on it though...

if i find an answer i will definitely post it back here if you could do the same i would be in your debt

thanks again muppet

I've set the upload mechanism to 'manual upload' as my host doesn't support any of the other methods, and I don't know if I can install on the server (or what to do if I could).

The path to the thumb looks for 'images/gallery/thumbs'.
The thumbnail images specified in the upload aren't anywhere on the server.
Only the main images are uploaded.

(edit: should've said, it is actually rsgallery2 I'm using. Does that make a difference?)

What type of server r u running?

are you on a mac? (if so i may be able to help you)

RSgallery 2 check

i think you need to give yourself permissions on the files/folders the

i followed your advice i set up my file hirachy up as images/gallery/thumbs and it works great:

http://www.trussfab.com.au/website/i...lery&Itemid=48

only the thumbs in the second instace still don't work:

http://www.trussfab.com.au/website/i...allery&catid=1

soooooooo close...

Um, it's running on a linux serve, I think.
It doesn't upload thumb whether I load from mac or PC.

If you want to see the settings of the site email me and let you have the access.

I think your best bet is to ftp everything, that's pretty much what i did in the end

if you can do that it sounds like everything is writable...

beyond that your best bet is to contact the tech who runs the server as he has complete access to everything and could probably tell you why you can't upload

although sometimes with certain permissions it will give you access to the ftp but not via the CMS upload

best thing to do in that case is set everything to chmod 777 as that is total / universal access

Hmm, that's fine for me but not for non-techies who are going to run the site and have no idea what FTP is (nor would remember if they were tought).

Hosting company no help, so either stuffed or chose another gallery.

Hmmmmm... ouch

i would say give me access but i don't really want to take responsablity for something i have pretty limited knowledge of...

have you tried the zoom gallery:

http://mamboforge.net/frs/?group_id=719&release_id=5397

it's a fair bit more involved but possibly work a little better than the RSgallery

otherwise... maybe consider relocating to a different server... sorry dude but if it's super important to use mambo CMS for your client i would say relocating would be a good idea... especially if the host admin is no help

i can give you a few referals to hosts which will not only load mambo up for you but have brilliant tech support and endless time to trouble shoot...
