Finally, RSGallery 2.0 beta 2 is out. I made it in time as promised, however it is far from complete. Please put it to the test and report all bugs and errors in the forum at my site, that will be migrating to MOS45 very soon.
You can download it from the filebase at http://rsgallery.homedns.org.
Have fun,
Ronald

Ronald,
Great! This new choice is welcomed. Your hard work is paying off!!!
Choice between gallery list with thumbnail and the well known RSGallery dropdownbox http://rsgallery.homedns.org
I was wondering if you wouldn't mind making your component available on Mamboserver.com's download section. Would you mind when it is?
I have one request. I was wondering if you can add this new feature as an additional choice in the configuration. It is to have the main category page in rows of three thumbnails. This will give three choices of presentation of the main category page.
1. Rows with three thumbnails/row
2. Gallery list with thumbnail
3. Dropdown list.
Thanks in advance!!! :D :D :D

When I login all is well. I click the link Add File. I start typing in details. As soon as I click on file, the upload popup appears and ...........gone are all my details.
I am back at the frontpage again.
This does not work!!!

Sorry to annoy you with that but after some search in the forum I'm stuck with this question:
When I try to upload my pictures with FTP, my ftp software say that I haven't the rights to write in this folder...
I tried to chmod the folder created by RSGallery but the "operation is not permitted"...
So what I'm doing wrong? Why can I not write some pictures in this folder?
How to repair this?
Thanks a lot for further help!

i would suggest in the installation to make the files and folder 777

So if I have got the trick, when the script of RSgallery make a new folder it's made "on it own name" and after when I try to modify it with my own login on the ftp server, I can't access it...
So the only way is to do an update of the RSgallery that would make 777 folders?
... help
Thanks for your fast answer!!

Sent him a PM about this 3 or 4 days ago :(
Main menu is also broken for logged in users. Only Useful Links and Home are displayed.

This one is for greentin:
In RSGallery every directory you make is automatically created 777, so this is might not be the problem and only the images/gallery directory is created on installation. All the others are created when you create a new category.
If you FTP all images in a directory, afterwards you need to manually fill the database, so I am not sure why you want this.
Please take this to the forum at http://rsgallery.homedns.org , I check this more often. Today we had some upgrade problems, but now you can use your old rsgallery account or create a new one.
Have fun

HELP!
First: The component looks great (only I really can't see it)
How do I upload from the front end? I see no link, and I see nowhere to config user rights in RS.
When I upload from backend, everything goes swell, but from front end it looks like message below
Whats going on? I'm a newbee so it's proberly basic. Anyway here it is:
Warning: getimagesize(): Unable to access /var/www/abatonet.dk/ifskeksil/images/gallery/damhusengen_-_minus_dybde_8410 in /var/www/abatonet.dk/ifskeksil/components/com_rsgallery/rsgallery.php on line 428
Warning: getimagesize(/var/www/abatonet.dk/ifskeksil/images/gallery/damhusengen_-_minus_dybde_8410): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/abatonet.dk/ifskeksil/components/com_rsgallery/rsgallery.php on line 428
The pic is there, only it's called damhusengen_-_minus_dybde_841048 (the last two digits don't appear in the error message - but I did'nt change this???)
