OK, I have 2 sites that are causing me heartache... so maybe Mambo can't do this.

I will talk about the two sites separately.

Site 1:

Site 1 is a small electric coop. We want the ability for people to log in and view their bills. This means that when people log in, they go straight to a Member area rather than back to the home page. It also means that when they are in the member area, when they click on view your bill, it needs to show ONLY their bill. Not a list or something. I am creating another db for the bills, just need to know if what needs done can be done before I get too much further into this. Is it possible?

Site 2:

Site 2 is a small chamber of commerce. They want the ability to sell space on their site to the different area businesses. This means that when a business owner logs in, they need the ability to edit their page, and ONLY their page. So far, all I can come up with is editor or publisher which still gives them the ability to edit anything on the site. Sure we could use the honor system... don't edit someone else's page, but accidents happen. Not to mention, the business owners won't like it period.

I thought about a different Mambo installation for each business, but that is a bit overboard since they will only have one page... sort of an ad page for their business and their page still needs to be "connected" to the main site.

Can this be done?

If the answers for these sites is Mambo can't do it, can anyone recommend a CMS that can? I love Mambo, but I also can't wait for new releases to accomplish these things.

Thanks in advance for your help.

#1. I may be wrong, but I think the only way for you to do what you want would be by using a stand alone script with a login that you would integrate into mambo via a custom module. The script itself could be viewed through the wrapper component.

#2. Sounds like a job for Phil Taylor's mosDirectory (http://www.phil-taylor.com/Product_Info/Mambo_Products/mosDirectory_-_Now_Available!/).

Wow... looks like he has lots of goodies...

Phil... if you are out there... could you tell me which, if any, of your products would help me accomplish what I need to do for both of those sites. They look really exciting... but don't want to purchase if they are not what I need.

Thanks!!

#1 - as long as you can create a relationship between their Mambo User ID and their accounting data you can do this by just putting a link to the accounting info on the user menu.
