This is a site I am working on for my "day job". I am an EMT-IV an seeing as I am the only one working w/ CCEMS who knows a little about building sites I decided to create one for Cumberland County Emergency Medical Services...
I had a little trouble with the template and I'm still working the bugs out. If your wondering what the empty space is in the top corner its for a weather mod i am trying to customize...
I customized the PMS Private Messaging mod/component to suit my needs, when logged in the output is quite different...
Check it out an tell me what you think...
- its not on a top level domain yet, but will be soon!

Are you using IE?
It's odd, but when you visit the site w/ IE it brings this up.
[code:1:fe78b9d032]The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

When you visit using Netscape/Mozilla Firebird it shows up fine.
To correct this so that IE users can view the site I had to remove the Metadata under the Global Configuration Setting. why this has this effect on the site is unknown to me... maybe a possible bug? :?
It is working now... thanks for letting me know about this, I test in Mozilla/Netscape. Usually I found that if it works in Mozilla/Netscape then it will work in IE, I never even tested it in IE until now.... (yeah I know, a rookie mistake)

Yes, I am using IE. Works now! Strange...never seen an error like that.
Love the template! Did you make it? I kinda feel like it is too cool of a template for a medical site, but I do like the template! :D

Very nice!
You know how there are separate sites and forums for different countries? Maybe we should start one for Tennessee!
You do nice work.

Thanx, yeah i made the template, its still a work in progress. It's my first template, but i am planning on making a 'universal' port of it for others to download. I am trying to break out of the 'portal' look of most of the templates i've found.
btw - nice site im somewhat of a scifi nut myself....

thanx, jns
sure a forum for us 'hillbillies' or to be politically correct 'hi-tech rednecks' would be great...
btw - you have a site?

I'm currently trying to build two MOS sites in my spare time. (Like that really exists.) I'm about to start on a third too, but I'm not ready to offer links to any of them for fear of embarrassing myself.
In my day job I manage a news site for a local TV station (not MOS).

Nice graphics, different look.
Don't think the graphics suit the content though. They also seem to fight each other color wise. Two completely different images that you tried to associate with font colors.
I have never really liked right hand menus either, personal preference there.
Overall, I like the overall design, don't like the way it is put together and the way it is not tied to the content.

Nice template :)
However, the right third and bottom quarter of my screen show up purple while the site is in the upper left. Admittedly I do have a larger monitor than most running at fairly high resolution but it kinda makes it look squished up :(
I still think it's spangly though, I have zero graphical ability so I'm not in a position to criticise others :D

thanx for all the coments everyone...
the template you all see is only the first version for testing purposes...
seems like my boss likes the menu on the left as well, so its getting moved as well as the graphics getting an update to really make the EMS theme work.
for the 'next' version of the sites template users can choose which side the menu is shown as well as other dynamic component updates....
'i will be releasing the template when completed for download - free of charge' as well as a few other templates i am working on for my own site...
btw - Gayle, what resolution are you running and i'll see if i can address this

Nah, it's not too bad. I was getting fed up with Dreamweaver not having enough desktop real estate to be usable so I went treated myself to a 19" monitor so if anything the fonts are larger than they were on a 15" at 800x600 :)

Gayle - 1280x1024
I am currently running 1400x1050 (Laptop Screen)
after surveying most of the visitors to the site, the majority of resolutions was 800x600, so thats why I used the fixed width template.
I am working on a fullscreen template for users w/ higher resolutions that they can select through the template changer

Just let us know.

Heh neohazard, do you have a working link available?
I'm just putting together another site for our Paramedic Services here in Northwestern Ontario, complete rookie attempt, but thought it would be neat to see another EMS site using Mambo.
I had an earlier version of mambo up, but couldn't secure access from the public until the Community Builder component was released... so now that it is working... hoping to get things going soon.
